LA BOHème

Music by Giacomo Puccini

14 and 29 July - 10 and 25 August

o bella età d’inganni e d’utopie!
The musical fresco that Giacomo Puccini dedicated to youth, light-heartedness, dreams, and love will be staged for four performances. The bohemian life of the group of young, idealistic, and penniless artists is set against the backdrop of ‘French May,’ from Christmas ’67 through the early months of ’68. The ferment of the French youth’s rebellion during that historical period is recognizable in the scenes created by Christophe Ouvrard, a French set designer formed at the École des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, with numerous successful productions staged in France, Germany, and Austria. The opera’s direction is under Christophe Gayral, who, after beginning his career as an actor in classical and contemporary theatre, puppet theatre, street theatre, cabaret, contemporary dance, and street chorus, devoted himself to directing Opera both in France and Italy.
