Music by Giacomo Puccini

gira la cote! gira, gira! gira…

Puccini’s unfinished opera, which in 2026 will mark the centenary of its premiere – staged posthumously following the composer’s death – returns to the stage for four performances as part of the Puccini Festival, featuring sets designed by Angelo Linzalata and created by artists from the Cittadella del Carnevale.
A production directed by Daniele Abbado, who has seen in Turandot, a masterpiece of the twentieth century, an opera of extraordinary modernity. A symbolic and minimalistic “contemporary” stage layout has been designed for this decidedly modern opera, where the significant use of technology is evident. Innovative light sources also illuminate the colorful, modern costumes designed by Giovanna Buzzi.
